As a full-service studio, we offer unmatched support from concept through installation. Our team is highly experienced in custom builds, large-scale installations, and advanced rigging—allowing us to transform spaces with confidence, precision, and creativity. Whether intimate or expansive, the sky is not the limit—it’s the starting point.

Beyond the flowers, we believe business itself can be a force for good. After years of building, refining, and listening, we’ve aligned our work with our values. Merkel’s Floral Studio is a certified member of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of gross sales to verified environmental partners. We go further by committing an additional 1% directly into our local community—because impact should start where you stand.

About Us

Our couples aren’t just choosing flowers.
They’re choosing legacy.

Rooted in community. Committed to the future.

Established in 1940

Merkels Floral Studio has spent generations servicing weddings, events, and everyday moments of love, loss, and celebration. While our craft has evolved, our purpose has only grown clearer: to create beauty that gives back.

We are a luxury wedding and event florist, a trusted daily florist for our community, and a long-standing partner to our neighboring local funeral home—honoring life at every stage. Our designs are known for being lush, refined, and deeply intentional; spanning from timeless and classic to modern and editorial. Every project is tailored to reflect the people and spaces we design for.

We evaluate our giving thoughtfully and revisit it regularly, ensuring our support remains meaningful, responsible, and aligned with our values.

Small businesses have always been the heartbeat of communities.

When you support local, you support real people—and real change.

Merkels Floral Studio commits a minimum of 2% of gross sales each year toward meaningful impact—1% to environmental causes through 1% for the Planet, and at least 1% reinvested directly into our local community.

Our local giving supports organizations and initiatives focused on housing and family support, food security, youth development, education, healthcare, and research. Some partnerships are long-standing; others are shaped by the moments and people we are trusted to serve—including the couples and families within our community.

Giving back is a responsibility built into how we do business.

Philanthropy & Impact

This is stewardship.
This is flowers for legacy.

At Merkels Floral Studio, responsibility extends beyond materials and sourcing. It lives in how we hire, how we teach, how we care for our team, and how we show up every day.

We believe you should feel good about where your flowers come from—and how they’re created.

How We Choose to Operate

Doing the right thing isn’t always the easiest path.
But it’s the one that aligns with our values—and the future we want to help shape.

This is how beauty becomes responsible.
This is how impact becomes lasting.

We make intentional choices to reduce waste, respect resources, and honor the planet—understanding that sustainability is an ongoing practice, not a finished goal.

Thoughtful, Responsible Practices

Whenever possible, we prioritize hiring locally for our projects—supporting regional talent and strengthening the creative economy within our community.

Local Hiring & Community Growth

We actively reinvest in our team through formal training, continuing education, and skill development. Excellence is built through learning, mentorship, and shared standards of craft.

Education & Professional Growth

We are committed to providing livable wages, benefits, and a safe, supportive, and respectful work environment. Our team is not just part of the business—they are the heart of it.

Kristin leads her team with a balance of creativity and structure. She finds equal fulfillment in celebrating love stories, solving complex challenges, building thoughtful systems, and creating meaningful floral experiences. Beyond her own work, she is deeply committed to mentoring and supporting fellow entrepreneurs, believing that shared knowledge strengthens communities as a whole.

Her leadership is shaped by faith, integrity, and gratitude—and by a belief that the businesses we build can leave a positive mark on the world.

Kristin Goodell is an entrepreneur, wife, mother, and creative director with a deep respect for craftsmanship, community, and long-term stewardship.

Originally from Ohio, Kristin earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Miami International University of Art & Design and spent several years living and working in Miami, alongside years of extensive international travel that continue to inform her creative and cultural perspective.

Today, she brings that vision to her work—grounded by experience and guided by long-term thinking. Kristin has a particular love for brick-and-mortar businesses with history, believing that places rooted in their communities carry stories worth preserving. When she stepped into Merkel’s Floral Studio—an institution serving its community since 1940—she understood she was becoming responsible for something far larger than herself.
